Rules of Engagement
The Global Coaches Guild (GCG) succeeds because every member contributes to a shared high standard. By joining, you agree to uphold these core expectations:
Professional Integrity
- Professional Conduct. We demand adherence to the ICF Code of Ethics in all discussions. Keep communication respectful, constructive, and non-competitive at all times.
- Client Privacy. Always share client scenarios anonymously. Never include proprietary information, personal identifying details (PII), or confidential data.
- Vetted Membership Only. The Guild is strictly for certified coaches (ACC, PCC, MCC, CEC, etc.) or those actively enrolled in a credited program. We do not permit outsiders.
Real-Time Engagement
- Real-Time Priority. All critical discussions, tips, and requests take place in Slack. We prioritize responsive, concise communication that generates quick ideas and answers.
- Set Your Status. Use your Slack profile to set your Availability Zone and Status (e.g., EST, 9am-5pm or Away until Friday). This manages expectations for real-time collaboration.
- Stay Active. We deactivate accounts that do not engage in conversations or barter scheduling for an extended period. Your participation ensures the network remains high-signal and valuable for everyone.
- Mobile Access. We strongly recommend enabling Slack notifications on your mobile device for immediate access to time-sensitive requests.
GCG Platform Limitations
- Limited History. The current free Slack tier provides only a 90-day searchable history of messages. Please use a personal knowledge base (like Notion) to log and store key insights and resources.
- External Scheduling. The platform does not include built-in scheduling or video. Members must use external tools (e.g., Calendly, Zoom, Google Meet) to arrange and conduct barter sessions.
